Wildcats Everywhere (Week 15 Preview)
For the second weekend in a row, both Terrier squads face the same opponent with both teams facing off against New Hampshire
The Terriers and New Hampshire Wildcats matchup on both the men’s (11-7-1, HEA (2nd): 7-3-1) and the women’s (14-6-1, HEA (1st): 11-3-1) sides this weekend. This is the second weekend in a row that both Terrier teams play the same opponent, the first time since 2020, when both teams faced UNH on February 15th and UConn February 20th and 21st.
Men’s
The second place Terriers have a home-and-home vs. New Hampshire (January 17th 7pm, Whittemore Center, January 18th 6 pm, Agganis Arena).
New Hampshire
(10-6-3, HEA (11th): 2-5-2)
The series will be the first two of a three game set with the Wildcats, the third game coming January 31st.
The Wildcats come into the weekend after getting swept by UConn (1-4, 2-3) in a home-and-home series. Prior to that New Hampshire were unbeaten in their previous 7 going 6-0-1 in that span. New Hampshire is led by sophomore Ryan Conmy who leads the team in goals (10) and points (20) and junior Cy Leclerc who leads in assists (11) and is second in points (18). Conmy is one of only 7 Hockey East players with double-digit goals this season. Jared Whale, junior transfer from Alaska-Anchorage, has started all 19 games for UNH this season. His 2.21 GAA is 4th among Hockey East goalies, and his .905 SV% is 7th.
The Terriers enter off of a sweep of Vermont, scoring 13 goals on the weekend. In the Saturday game, Cole Eiserman became the first Terrier freshman to record a hat trick at Agganis Arena. 3 different Terriers had 5 point weekends—Quinn Hutson (3-2—5), Jack Harvey (2-3—5), and Ryan Greene (2-3—5). Tom Willander and Quinn Hutson leads all Terriers with 4 career points vs. UNH.

The Wildcats come into the weekend off of a 5-3 win over Merrimack, prior to that they were on a 6 game losing streak. Wildcats’ leading scorer, senior Kira Juodikis (9-6—15) scored two in the win. Along with Juodikis, UNH is led by seniors Shea Verrier (5-8—13) and Marina Alvarez (3-9—12) who leads the team in points. Former Terrier Andi Calderone also features on the Wildcats with 8 points (4g-4a). In net, Sedona Blair has 4 shutouts, second most in Hockey East, and holds a GAA of 2.23 and SV% of .925.
The Terriers enter the game off of a split with Vermont and a Beanpot semifinal win over Harvard. Sydney Healey scored in both the Beanpot semifinal and the second game of the Vermont weekend, putting her at the top of the team in goal scored with 9. With assist on both BU Beanpot goals, Julia Shaunessy took over the team lead in points with 14. Shaunessy is second in Hockey East for points and first in assists among defenders (2nd overall in Hockey East).
