BU welcomes the UConn Huskies to Agganis Arena for their first Hockey East game of the season. It is the first Hockey East conference game of the season, and the second consecutive season BU is featured in the opening Hockey East game. UConn split with Holy Cross over the weekend, with each team winning their home game in a non-conference home-and-home series. BU are winners of two straight after beating Union 4-1 on Saturday night.
UConn is led in scoring by Jake Richards, who has scored a quarter of the team’s goals this season, although he was left goalless last time out vs. Holy Cross. Juniors Jake Percival and Tabor Heaslip have stepped up after the team’s loss of last season’s leading scorer Matthew Wood. Percival is 4 goals off his career high, just four games in, and Heaslip has already matched his career high for goals in a season.
The Terriers continue to be led by their top line of Shane Lachance, Ryan Greene, and Quinn Hutson who have combined for 11 pts in two games. Lachance and Hutson picked up a point each against the Garnet Chargers on Saturday.
Alex Zetterberg has emerged as a solid goalscorer for the Terriers, scoring 2 goals on just 5 shots through two games.
