The Terriers comeback three times to advance to the Hockey East Semifinals
The #2 Terriers won an OT thriller against the #8 Vermont Catamounts to head to the Hockey East Semifinals for the first time since 2019.

Union transfer Riley Walsh made her presence known on Saturday night for the Terriers, involved on nearly every line of the scoresheet, recording a point on 3 of 4 BU goals, including scoring the game winner, as well as taking both of BU’s two penalties. Vermont opened the scoring 6 minutes into the first, scoring on their second shot of the game. Two minutes later, Maeve Kelly tied things up with her second goal of the season—also the second of her career—and first since October 25th, 2024 vs. Syracuse. Less than a minute later, Vermont took back the lead on their 4th shot of the game. With 32 seconds in the period, Lilli Welcke send the teams to the locker rooms all square at 2. The goal was Welcke’s 2nd against Vermont this season, the only team that she has scored against in multiple games.
After a scoreless second, Vermont again took the lead back on a power play goal. Midway through the period, Sydney Healey tied things up with her 14th goal of the season. Her 6th career goal and 8th career point vs. Vermont, her most against any opponent. The teams headed to overtime. Just before the 4-minute mark of the period, Riley Walsh, got the winner. Her first goal since January 31st vs. Boston College to send the Terriers to the next round.
The Terriers dominated shots on goal 48-16 and won 38 of 61 faceoffs (62.3%). It was the 12th time this season that the Terriers held their opponents to less than 20 shots this season, they are 10-1-1 in those games.
The win was the first Hockey East Tournament win for the Scarlet and White almost 6 years to the day of their last one on March 2nd, 2019 vs. UNH. #2 BU will host #3 BC on Wednesday at Walter Brown Arena.
