This is Hockey East (Week 4 Preview)
Both Terrier squads begin Hockey East play, with the women hosting UNH and the men have a home-and-home with UConn
The women (0-5-0) host the Wildcats for one, while the men (2-2-1) have a home-and-home series with the Huskies to open Hockey East play.
Women’s
The Terriers welcome UNH to Walter Brown Arena (October 24th, 6pm) hoping to finally get into the win column.
New Hampshire
(3-3-1)
The Terriers open their Hockey East season vs. the UNH Wildcats, their most played Hockey East opener (5) however it is the first time they’ve opened their Hockey East season against UNH at home since 2008.
BU enters the game losers of five straight, including a 1-2 loss to Brown over the weekend. Luisa Welcke scored the Terriers’ only goal, with assists from sister Lilli and team scoring leader Sydney Healey (1-3—4).
UNH also comes off of a 1-2 loss to an ECAC opponent, losing to Harvard at home. Senior Alyson Hush, the lone Wildcat scorer. Prior to the loss, New Hampshire went 3-0-1 with wins against Assumption and a win and a tie vs. Union. The Wildcats are led by Hush and freshman Nina Rossi (3-3—6). Senior Kelly Harty also has 3 goals for UNH this season. In net, Juniors Sedona Blair (1.74 GAA / .940 SV%) and Noemi Martinez (1.67 / .938) have split time in net.
Clara Yuhn leads all active Terriers with 2 goals and 4 points against the Wildcats. The Welckes are the only others with goals against UNH.

Men’s
The men end their longest home stand since 1977 with a visit from UConn on Friday (October 24th, 7pm) before heading to Storrs for their first road trip (October 25th, 5pm).
Connecticut

The Terriers open their Hockey East schedule vs. the Connecticut Huskies, and head out on their first road trip of the season.
The Huskies enter the weekend splitting their first two series against Colorado College (2-4 L, 5-1 W) and Ohio State (3-2 W, 2-4 L). In their last game, Junior Joey Muldowney scored his team leading 3rd goal of the season to open the scoring. 5 different Huskies are tied a top of the team with 3 points each: Muldowney, Ryan Tattle, Jake Richard, Mike Murtagh (brother of Terrier Jack), and Alexandre Blais.
BU comes in on a two game losing streak, after dropping both games against #3 Michigan State (2-4, 3-4 (OT)). Four different Terriers scored their first goal of the season over the weekend, included all 3 scorers on Saturday: Sascha Boumedienne, Gavin McCarthy, Kamil Bednarik, Conrad Fondrk.
Despite only being in Hockey East for 11 seasons, BU has played UConn in their Hockey East opener 5 times in that span, their most of any team. It is also one of only 2 teams in that span they started the season against multiple times—UMass Lowell twice.
