The Terriers head to Toledo where they are the #2 seed in the regional facing off with #3 seed in the regional, Ohio State
BU travels to Toledo, Ohio to begin their pursuit for their 6th National Championship, facing off with the Ohio State Buckeyes (March 27th, 2pm) in the regional semifinal of the 2025 NCAA DI Men’s Ice Hockey Championship.

The #2 seed BU Terriers face off with the #3 seed OSU Buckeyes in the Toledo Regional Semifinal. In the other semifinal, #1 seed and Big Ten Tournament Champion Michigan State face off with #4 seed and ECAC Tournament Champion Cornell.
The Terriers enter their 3rd straight NCAA tournament under coach Jay Pandolfo, on a loss to UConn in the Hockey East semifinal. The Scarlet and White were outplayed and outworked extensively by the Huskies and need to turn things around if they want to keep their season alive.
Ohio State enters the NCAA tournament, their 2nd in the past 3 seasons, off of a Double OT heartbreaking loss to Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament Title game. The Buckeyes fell into a two goal hole in the first period off of two Michigan State power goals, early in the first period. Joe Dunlap got one back for OSU in the final 2 minutes of the period. After a scoreless 2nd, the Spartans restored their 2 goal lead less than a minute into the 3rd. Late in the third, the Ohio State tied things up with goals from Damien Carfagna and former Northeastern Husky Gunnarwolfe Fontaine at 12:46 and 17:39 in the period, respectively. At 15:06 in the 2nd OT period, Michigan State’s Isaac Howard scored to give the Spartans the title.
The Buckeyes are led by Graduate Student and NU transfer Gunnarwolfe Fontaine, who leads the team in points (40) and is tied for the team lead in goals with freshman Riley Thompson (17). Graduate defenseman Aiden Hansen-Bukata leads the team in assist with 27, include the secondary assist on all three OSU goals in the Championship game.
The matchup of the Scarlet and White and the Scarlet and Gray will be 4th overall and the first between the teams since the 2009 Northeast Regional Final (8-3 W). It will be the first time the teams will face off in the state of Ohio. Each of their previous matchups have occurred in mid-season tournaments, the first being the 1973 RPI Invitational (6-5 W) and the next in the 1998 Mariucci Classic (2-1 W).
