Terriers shut out Holy Cross to keep the unbeaten streak rolling
On the back of another Mari Pietersen shut out, the Terriers take down Holy Cross.

Luisa Welcke opened the scoring at 8:47 in the first, which snapped a 9 game goal drought dating back to October 17th. It was her 2nd career goal vs. Holy Cross and first at the Hart Center. In the second, her sister, Lilli extended the Terriers’ lead at 2:20 in the period, with her third goal of the season. The Welckes scored in the same game for just the 2nd time as Terriers and first since January 10th, 2025 at Vermont. In the third, Mia Vegilii recorded her 1st collegiate goal at 11:15 to cap off the win for the Scarlet and White. Clara Yuhn assisted on the goal to extend her point streak to 6 games, and has recorded a point in 8 of her last 9.
Mari Pietersen was stellar, stopping all 19 Crusader shots she faced. Her 3rd career shutout and third straight shutout of Holy Cross.
BU went 3-3 on the PK and has killed have killed 15 of 16 in their last 5 games.
The win extends the Terriers’ unbeaten streak to 3 games, their best stretch of the season.
Other Notes
This was BU's 4th straight shutout of Holy Cross, which matches the program record for most consecutive shutouts of the same team (Vermont 2006-2007)
Mari Pietersen is the first goalie in program history to shut out the same opponent in three consecutive games
