It all comes down to this, The first place Terriers take on the second place Huskies with the fate of the Hockey East Regular Season trophy and the #1 seed in the Hockey East Tournament on the line. The Terriers currently hold a five point lead (57-52) over the Huskies in the standings, so they Huskies will need all 6 point on the weekend to claim the top stop. If they Terriers can at least get one of the games to overtime, they will be Hockey East Regular Season Champions for the 3rd time in program history.
The Huskies come into the weekend having been swept by the Providence Friars (1-3, 2-4), it was just the 2nd time this season that the Huskies lost two in a row dating back to November 8th and 9th vs. Northeastern (0-1, 0-1).
The Terriers enter on a split of New Hampshire (2-1, 2-2). Captain Tamara Giaquinto scored two on Saturday. The Terriers’ dominated shots on goal 42-29 but couldn’t get the winner past Sedona Blair, ultimately losing in the 10th round of the shootout, missing out on the point they needed to secure the #1 seed.
Last time vs. the Huskies, the Terriers made a late push, leading shots on goal 26-17 in the final two frames but couldn’t complete the comeback.

The two avoided each other in the Beanpot for the first time since 2017. In that span, they were each the only team to “eliminate” the other from the tournament.
The Huskies have had a rough season, with both a 3 game losing streak and a 4 game losing streak at different points in the season. They come into the weekend splitting with UMass Lowell (2-0, 1-3), after losing to Harvard (3-4) in the Beanpot consolation game. NU have lost 5 of their last 6 after starting 2025 winning 4 of 5. The Huskies are led by junior Jack Williams, who leads the team in goals (14), assists (17), and points (31). Despite that, Williams has just 2 points in his last 5 games. Fellow junior Cam Lund is second on the team in assists (16) and points (27). Sophomore Dylan Hryckowian is second in goals (13) and 3rd in points (25). In net, Cameron Whitehead has a SV% of .905 and GAA of 2.9.
The Terriers enter the weekend after winning their 32nd Beanpot title on Monday night, before splitting with the Friars over the weekend. Goalie Mikhail Yegorov was integral to both the Terriers wins, locking down a high-powered BC offense, holding them to just 1 goal, the only team to do so this season. After a rough Friday night loss at Providence, Yegorov again locked things down, securing his first career shutout in a 3-0 win over the Friars.
